Dirk Benedict called it the last TV show truly aimed at the male demographic. He said it was ‘made for guys, shot by guys, starring guys’. Benedict says we won’t see another TV show like The A-Team because feminists have taken over the tube, ‘the feminisation of TV is complete‘. Although there were technically eight members of The A-Team (six men, two women) the van was essentially the real fifth member. There are a lot of replicas of it today, most of them with inaccuracies, usually the wheel/suspension set up. Normally people just rig a black GMC Vandura with bullbars and the right alloys, including the idiot producers of the feature movie. However anyone who has ever seriously modded a vehicle will easily spot that more serious work was done with the original van/s. For example the ride height at the front of the van has been aggressively lowered by at least 40mm, with the front rims running a seriously stretched 225 tire. Stretched tires didn’t catch on with modders ’till the 00’s. Ahead of its time indeed.
