The Transporter Series Being Rebooted – Without Statham

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Jason Statham in a Transporter movie.  Well don’t expect to see him in another one anytime soon, or ever again for that matter.  EuropaCorp and Fundamental Films have gone to work in getting another movie off the ground – and it won’t feature Jason Statham.

There’s some confusion here.  The HollywoodReporter is saying that the next movie will be titled ‘The Transporter 4’, suggesting a sequel, but they also say it’ll explore the origins of the Frank Martin character.  So a prequel then?

Fundamental Films are based in China so it looks like the next movie could be set there.  If it performs well, The Transporter 5 and 6 will then go into development.  In case you didn’t know, original plans to follow up The Transporter 3 were to turn the series towards the small screen, but again without Jason Statham.
