What’s Seagal Up To These Days? Dieting For Upcoming Projects?

What is Sensei Seagal up to these days?  More of the same, mostly – only with less eating.  Recently Seagal wrapped up working on ‘A Good Man’ (2014).  In that movie, Seagal is…  “the perfect soldier but when a little girl dies in his arms on a mission in Iraq – he goes off the grid. Sam Huang is an enforcer for the Chinese Triad, paying off his little sister Mya’s safe passage to the US. When the nefarious Mr. Chen sets up Sam to take the fall for murders he committed, he also kidnaps Mya and hands her over to the mob. The now recluse Alexander decides to help Sam get his sister back and wipe out the Triad. The body count rises as Alexander returns to what he does best – killing. But will it be enough for Alexander to be redeemed…”

The budget for that movie is… allegedly, 10 million.  It will be directed by Keoni Waxman.  You can check out the first picture below.

Elsewhere, Seagal is taking a break from his musical ‘world tour’ to shoot The Mercenary: Absolution.  Filmed in Bucharest it is about “a team of hit men who go to Russia for a hit and end up trapped in the city due to inclement weather. As they wait out the approaching storm Steven’s character stumbles upon a girl being attacked. He saves her life but in the processes has a realization that he has been fighting for the wrong things in his life – and vows to help get her out of the city.”

But maybe the more interesting news is the rumors of Seagal losing weight.  Some pictures from the former movie show Seagal looking slightly leaner than his usual self.  This article from Romania suggests that Seagal is actually dieting to get in shape for ‘The Mercenary’.  Supposedly where his friends and co-workers feast and dine, they say that Seagal is refusing such luxuries to consume only fruit and water.  Obviously this is going to lead to speculation – is Seagal getting in shape for The Expendables 4, which Avi Lerner supposedly wants fast-tracked in late 2014?

Time will tell…
