Gerard Butler Drops Out Of Point Break Reboot

Good news for people not accepting a remake of Point Break.  The movie seems to have lost its star and lead actor, Gerard Butler.

Butler, who was set to play Zen-influenced surfer and thief Bodhi (the part originated by the late Patrick Swayze in the 1991 flick), reportedly left the project for a number of reasons, including creative and scheduling conflicts.

The scheduling conflict, in fact, is for London Has Fallen.  That movie will shoot this fall in London (and possibly a split shoot in Bulgaria).  Wise move from Butler, Olympus Has Fallen deserves a sequel but Point Break certainly does not deserve a reboot that will focus heavily on ‘steadycam’ action sequences.
