Sylvester Stallone And Avi Lerner Moving Forward With Rambo V – ManlyMovie

Sylvester Stallone And Avi Lerner Moving Forward With Rambo V

Some news here to report on Rambo V.  Last winter Stallone was said to be in negotiations, which came after a proposed TV series – presumably that idea fell through, especially after the doomed Beverly Hills Cop pilot?

Anyway, onto the latest news.  It seems that it is moving forward, as German studio Splendid has purchased the rights to it.  The same studio handles The Expendables in that country.  Supposedly Stallone wants to return to the vibe of the first movie and take inspiration from No Country For Old Men.

German studio Splendid Films (who also owns the rights to the Expendables films) bought the german rights for Rambo V during the Cannes Film Festival.
No Country for Old Men“. Produzent ist, wie schon beim letzten „John Rambo“, Avi Lerner („The Expendables 1-3“).

The synopsis for the fifth movie:

With “Rambo V” Sylvester Stallone returns to his signature role. This time he messes with the Mexican cartel. Stallone, who is also responsible for the screenplay, describes the new Rambo as his version of “No Country for Old Men.” Producer is like the last “Rambo”, Avi Lerner (“The Expendables 1-3″)”
