Conan 3 is finally going ahead, the true sequel to the original movies. Although it has been delayed until 2016, things are moving forward as Fredrick Malmberg, producer of The Legend Of Conan, will scout shooting locations this week in Spain.
He’ll accompany Arnold Schwarzenegger to the region this week, who is there to accept the Paseo de las Estrellas de la Ciudad de Almeria award. Schwarzenegger was last in Almeria on the set of Conan The Barbarian in 1981, so it looks like we’re going back to the root of the greatness.
But anyway, Fredrick Malmberg, the producer of the movie, says that the movie should start production in early 2015 for a 2016 release.
“We want to polish up the script, specifically about the characters. But we don’t think it will take long. We’ll probably have this turned in around September after the holiday and then we’ll take it to the studio and if they’re happy, we can hopefully start (production) in the Spring (2015).”
The idea is to have Arnold shoot The Legend of Conan after he finishes up with other commitments, such as the new Terminator movie.
