Two More Bourne Movies On The Way

Yesterday there was an update that Matt Damon is going to return as Jason Bourne, possibly putting another outing with Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross on the shelf in this espionage action series.  Since then producer Frank Marshall has come to weigh in on this:

“[The Bourne Legacy sequel] is moving forward,” insists Marshall. “It’s still in development. We’re working to get a script as soon as possible.” Marshall adds that because there are no deals with Damon or Greengrass, the strategy is to proceed with both projects simultaneously… “We’re on two tracks,” he says. “And if this one [with Damon and Greengrass] comes together, great, but they’re still just talking.”

So it looks like we are going to get two movies.  One with Paul Greengrass directing Matt Damon as Jason Bourne and one with Fast & Furious regular Justin Lin directing Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross.  Or it could play out as I have been postulating and we shall see a crossover movie.  We shall see…
