Baltasar Kormákur Directing Viking Epic For Universal

While we’re still waiting on Mel Gibson’s viking epic “Berserker”, in the meantime we look to an upcoming Universal Pictures project called “Vikingr”.

The film is set to be directed by “2 Guns” and “Contraband” director Baltasar Kormákur.  The movie, also written by him, will be an action drama revolving around the early days of Viking life, specifically the legendary Icelandic Sagas, “which document larger than life heroes, adventures and battles of early Nordic settlers, as well as daily life in the Viking age.”

It seems that Vikings are a hot topic at the minute with History’s “Vikings” proving to be popular on TV and “Northmen: A Viking Saga” coming to cinemas soon.
