Bond Spoilers Speed Around The Internet

daniel-craig-james-bond-contract

Let’s get the obvious out of the way first.  There was a hack, all sorts of information was leaked from it, including the shooting draft of Spectre.  Spoilers from it are now circulating the web.  If you don’t like spoilers, best not to read any further.  Added disclaimer, I am lifting this from another website who has read or been informed about pertinent plot points.  I haven’t read the screenplay nor am I in possession of it.

Without further ado…

Bond vs. Bautista

Dave Bautista as we know will appear in the movie as Christopher Waltz’s henchman, Bautista will play Mr. Hinx.  And indeed Bond and Hinx will throw down.  “At this point, we’re pretty deep into the second act of the film. On a train through the desert of Morocco, Bond and Swann run into one Mr. Hinx, played by Dave Bautista. They fight, with Bond eventually killing Hinx.”  Not a recurring character then like Jaws.

Craig’s Last Bond?

It seems that this will or could be Daniel Craig’s last outing as 007.  He isn’t getting any younger after all.  Word is that his Bond will be on the verge of retirement.

“In the aftermath of Skyfall, the British Government has decided to merge MI-6 with MI-5. During this transition, James Bond, being his James Bond-y self, finds himself in hot water after embarking on a rogue operation in Mexico that results in a lot of property damage.

Faced with a possible forced retirement, he goes AWOL in pursuit of a mission that was assigned to him posthumously by M (Judi Dench’s character).”

Craig’s Bond, supposedly, walks away with a love interest (Monica Belluci) at the end of the movie, throwing his weapon into a river, an act that symbolizes that he is done.

Third Act Troubles

The movie has supposedly ongoing difficulties with the ending of the movie, as in being a bit weak.  “As late as November, the screenwriters and studio were still struggling to fix the ending of the film.  The big issue the script notes keep mentioning is that there just doesn’t seem to be a twist or reveal worthy of Spectre or its leader.”  I think this could be resolved.  It’s one thing to have a crappy ending and not have people know about it, and rely on suckering them into seeing it through damage control and reliance on shill journalists (believe me, those exist), it’s another to have a fat Korean dictator blow the lid on the thing and have everyone and his dog know about it.

Probably most importantly is that it comes out while Craig has barely started filming.  Re-shoots in other words, that’s what I’d expect now…
