Here is the first official trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road. The clip released in the summer was only a first look not a trailer. It does seem more bombastic than any Mad Max movie yet, but ever since day one the stunts, vehicles and crashes etc have all supposedly been practical, with minimal CGI used.
The wrecking of the Interceptor at the outset also seems to suggest that this is a reboot as opposed to a sequel or ‘interquel’ between Mad Max 1 and 2. At any rate, George Miller claimed that Warner Bros. allowed him to do his own thing, and with his talent and that budget, that means that this could be something severely special.
Haunted by his turbulent past, Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Charlize Theron).
They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
“Mad Max: Fury Road” is scheduled for release in cinemas in May.
