The Rock’s Buddy Cop Movie Gets Moved

Following the success of Sony’s “Jump Street” franchise and a regrowth in interest in the old genre, New Line plans to investigate its own buddy action-comedy, enlisting two of Hollywood’s hottest stars: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart.

As Warner Bros. Pictures has shifted around their Summer 2016 schedule with the Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling-led “The Nice Guys” being moved up a month to a May 20th 2016 release. As a result, the Kevin Hart and The Rock-led comedy “Central Intelligence” has been locked into the old June 17th 2016 slot that ‘Nice Guys’ previously occupied.

Come to think of it both of those movies could be manly.

In “Central Intelligence”, after he reunites with an old pal through Facebook, a mild-mannered accountant is lured into the world of international espionage.  And in “The Nice Guys”, a private eye investigates the apparent suicide of a fading porn star in 1970s Los Angeles and uncovers a conspiracy.
