Here is a bit of interesting news. About that new Alien movie – let’s just call it Alien 5 in the interim (apparently the final name will be heavily suggestive as to the narrative of the movie), even though we know it’s technically a reboot of Alien3. Anyway, Bill Paxton wants to return as Hudson.
“I mean, if you’re going to bring Hicks back, you’ve got to have Hudson!” Paxton told Entertainment Weekly. I’m in two minds over that. One, it would be cool as fuck to see Hudson return. I mean, c’mon. But second and on the other hand, I liked Hudson’s demise. He started out kind of as a blowhard, but by the movie’s end, he was a Marine to the core and went down, guns blazin’. There’s something alpha as fuck about that.
I don’t know if it’s a good idea to change it.
I suppose he could be brought back. But even if we didn’t see Hudson die and only caught a glimpse of him being pulled somewhere, don’t forget that LV4-26 was nuked from orbit. It’s gone and everything in it. Kind of reminds me of Aliens: Colonial Marines (review) where the ‘writers’ just said, y’know, fuck it, nukes aren’t so bad and only damaged the colony somewhat.
Still though, new Alien3… exciting as shit or what?!
