Travolta Cast In “American Crime Story”

John Travolta has landed a starring role in FX’s highly anticipated “American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson” from Ryan Murphy, the cabler announced Wednesday.

Travolta, who will also serve as a producer on the 10-episode miniseries, has been cast as Robert Shapiro, a key member of Simpson’s “Dream Team” during the murder trial.

David Schwimmer has already been cast, who will play Robert Kardashian (that name seems to be everywhere these days for various reasons); both will join Sarah Paulson, who will portray prosecutor Marcia Clark; and Cuba Gooding Jr., who will star as Simpson.

The miniseries marks Travolta’s first starring television role since “Welcome Back, Kotter.”
