UPDATED: Rambo ISIS News Is Fake

UPDATED 2X: Sylvester Stallone’s agent has officially debunked this rumour.  “Sylvester Stallone did not attend Comic-Con 2015, and consequently there was no official remark from him regarding Rambo made there at the event,” the rep says. “This is not an accurate report.”  So I think we can put this up there with the old, wild rumours for this series, such as the persistent one that Rambo would kill Bin Laden for the fourth movie.

UPDATED: There are some questions as to the veracity of this news.  Some sources are placing Stallone in Venice in Europe, and nowhere near Comic-Con.  However The Daily Mail is citing The Washington Post.  However checking the root of this story, the ‘Washington Post’ site appears to be a fake – that’s one way to invite a lawsuit right there.  We’ll have to wait and see.  As of right now, it looks like Rambo V, if it even gets made, will see Sylvester Stallone take on the Cartel.

PREVIOUSLY:  Well, finally we have our news on Rambo V (Rambo: Last Blood) on the setting and bad guys.  I can barely believe this, but old John J. is going to take on currently the world’s biggest assholes, ISIS.

Speaking at Comic-Con, Stallone confirmed it.

“We have teams scouting Iraq and parts of Syria where ISIS have their greatest strongholds. We’re working with the locals there to help deliver the most intense and realistic Rambo movie experience ever.”

Things are starting to make sense.  Last year Millenium told ManlyMovie that Rambo V would use desert sets from the movie Year One.  While that was all they told us, I thought that meant a Mexican setting per an older (less fun) rumour.  Filming was set to begin late 2014/early 2015 in Louisiana, however that was delayed.  We uploaded pictures of the props for this movie to our Pinterest account – see the Rambo V board below.

Of course, this means that Stallone will be a target of ISIS vermin.  But I don’t think he gives a fuck.  In fact, a death threat would offer great promotion!
