Ving Rhames can be a pretty versatile actor if you’ve checked out the majority of his resume. Possibly his best performance was in Dark Blue alongside Kurt Russell. He’s set to return to drama next. He’ll join Ed Helms and Owen Wilson in the Bastards cast, it was announced by Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson.
Bastards is the directorial debut of veteran cinematographer Lawrence Sher (The Hangover films). Principal photography is set to start in Atlanta and Miami this September. Rhames’ role shoots primarily in December. The film will be released by Warner Bros. via Alcon’s output deal.
The film focuses on two brothers whose eccentric mother raised them to believe their father had died when they were young. When they discover this to be a lie, they set out to find their real father, learning more about their mother than they ever wanted to know.
