Dredd Will Return To The Screen, Says John Wagner

I don’t know, on why they didn’t make a Dredd sequel, I just have no idea.  Even in the midst of comic book mania, where even the lowliest of figures (can anyone exlain what the hell an Ant-Man is?) getting outings, they’d just have to screw us on a new Dredd movie.

Maybe there’s hope though. Judge Dredd co-creator John Wagner has suggested that more Dredd will eventually arrive on the big screen.

‘There will be a new Dredd film’, he posted on Facebook, ‘it’s just a question of when’.

That was pretty much the same line that Alex Garland gave when quizzed about a Dredd sequel earlier in the year. Garland, who wrote and produced Dredd, argued that Dredd would rise again, but that his own time with the character was probably done.

I think the comic book era is obviously going to end, and maybe 2016 might be a key rupture year.  So hopefully this thing gets moving before the masses finally turn on this craze.
