Christian Bale Joining Michael Mann’s Ferrari Movie?

UPDATED:  Good news for this movie.  It is going ahead with Christian Bale as the lead and will begin filming summer 2016 (well we couldn’t have a movie with Ferrari’s being test driven in some miserable rain!).  It’s also going to have an $80 million budget… not bad!

PREVIOUSLY: I thought Blackhat might have finished him off, but Michael Mann is set to direct another movie… a Ferrari movie.

According to Variety, the movie will be based on the book Enzo Ferrari: The Man, the Cars, the Races and is expected to go before the cameras sometime next year.

Two scripts had been written for the film – Troy Kennedy Martin (The Italian Job) and David Rayfield (Out of Africa) wrote them, respectively – which have been turned into one.

It gets better though, apparently Christian Bale has apparently signed on to play Enzo Ferrari himself.  Sounds good no?
