Strike Back Will Hit Big Screen?

strikebackfinalseasonIt’s one of the manlier TV shows out there for sure so many will be glad to heard that Strike Back may live on as a feature film. According to Entertainment Weekly, the London-based production company Left Bank Pictures has made a deal with Sky Television to make this happen. Producers are also hoping to strike a deal with Cinemax, the series’ U.S. distributor and production company, but no such deal has been reached yet.

While still in the very early stages of development, it’s likely that Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton would reprise their roles as Sgts. Michael Stonebridge and Damien Scott if the film goes ahead. Both actors currently star in new shows for NBC; Winchester plays the lead in the crazy action-drama The Player, while Stapleton stars as a stoic FBI agent on Blindspot. If everything works out, the film will shoot in South America next year, and there may be hope for a theatrical franchise.

Strike Back is currently airing its final season in the States, but wrapped up across the pond in July. The series finale is scheduled to air Friday, October 9 at 10pm on Cinemax.
