Van Damme To Star In ‘Antwerp Heist’

We love a good heist movie here and Jean Claude Van Damme is also a definite favourite.  So maybe the following news will be interesting to others too – that both will be combined when Jean Claude appears in Antwerp Heist.  Press releases have been appearing in Belgium to announce the film.

The project, to be directed by Ernie Barbarash, will focus on the real life heist in 2003 of 100 million Euros in Belgium.  The Antwerp Diamond Heist, dubbed the “heist of the century”,was the largest diamond heist in history. The thieves stole loose diamonds, gold, and other jewellery valued at more than $100 million

This movie is set to be a Belgian-Canadian co-production.  It will shoot in March, I think, although I could be wrong about that.  The budget will be around six million Euros.  We are looking at a Q4 2016 or Q1 2017 release date.  The genre will be strictly ‘action thriller’… no comedy stuff.
