5) Creed
Truth be told it has not been the best year for manly movies if you think about it. It was probably a so-so year, or even a weak one, bolstered by the great Mad Max: Fury Road.
Creed came in late and was somewhat of a surprise. Maybe I’m committing blasphemy, but I think I enjoyed the movie more than Rocky Balboa (2006) although that wasn’t a bad movie either. In the hour of MMA, I found it kind of refreshing to see a good old fashioned boxing movie hit the screens again. And that’s what it is in a way, old fashioned.
Michael B. Jordan perhaps crucially made a better impression than Stallone’s presence, probably giving the series legs.
