Rock’s ‘Fast’ Role Was Originally For Tommy Lee Jones

The Rock has had a great role as ‘Hobbs’ in the Fast & Furious series.  Some say it even elevated the series to mega blockbuster in the fifth movie when he originally appeared.  But that role wasn’t always set for him.  Taking to social media, Vin Diesel revealed that it was originally a Tommy Lee Jones position;

Back in the fifth film, when I was asking ‘Who should I work with?’ The reason why we brought Dwayne Johnson intoFast Five was because of you. There was a girl named Jen Kelly who said, ‘I would love to see you guys work together on-screen.’ And so, we gave a role that was initially written for Tommy Lee Jones but we gave it to Dwayne, and he shined in it.”

Well I can totally picture it, it makes sense.  Anyone remember U.S. Marshals?  Underrated movie and sequel.  But The Rock is just as good though.
