3) The Dead Pool (1988)
The final movie in the series, but surely not the worst. The Dead Pool is closer to spiritual successor The Rookie in terms of violent 1980’s excess — and why not!
By now a celebrity in his own right, Callahan is placed on a hit list of a nut who believes that some famous people need to be stiffed. If you’re forgetting which one this was, it’s ‘the one with the R/C cars’.
Isn’t that fucking amazing? A movie with Liam Neeson and radio controlled cars that park under the accused’s vehicles then detonate plastic explosives. As a kid who grew up in the 1980s/1990s (mostly the latter), watching this late at night on those 1990’s square TVs… I thought this was fucking awesome!
The violence, Eastwood’s deadpan give-no-fucks alpha demeanor, the swearing, the lunacy from Jim Carey… cool movie. Easy to watch!
