Trailer For Walter Hill’s ‘The Assignment’

Above is the new trailer for Walter Hill’s upcoming action/thriller The Assignment.  The film, which has no release date yet, stars Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver.

It is described as ‘A revenge tale about an ace assassin who is double-crossed by gangsters and a rogue plastic surgeon operating on the fringes of society. The story becomes a trail of self-discovery and redemption against a criminal mastermind opponent. Starring Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, and Tony Shalhoub.’

The film has drawn the ire of mainstream critics already.  Collider, for example, is calling the movie;

‘Provocative garbage’
‘Offensive’
‘Rude’
‘Inconsiderate’
‘Crass’
‘Crude’
‘Insane’
‘Uncompromising trash’
‘Button-pushing sleaze’

And that’s from one article, from a woman who is yet to see the movie.  I guess regardless of the intention, once this thing is finished, so is Walter Hill.
