UPDATED: We know that there’s an Escape Plan sequel in the works per the previous information below. The bad news was that Arnold Schwarzenegger had ‘opted out’ of a return, but now according to THR he’s ‘back in talks’.
That’s a good thing obviously. The second movie is also said to be a Sino-U.S. production, it’ll also feature some Chinese story elements.
PREVIOUSLY: Escape Plan was one of the best manly movies featuring Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger of this century. It was a financial success too, so why hasn’t there been more talk about a sequel?
Let the talk begin!
According to CinemaBlend this thing is a go, with Sylvester Stallone returning but Arnold Schwarzenegger opting out.
Those involved have also convinced Sylvester Stallone to reprise his role as Ray Breslin. However, this time around he will just be present in a supporting role rather than leading the way, while Arnold Schwarzenegger has decided not to return.
The site also says that Stallone will act as mentor to a younger actor. I’m guessing he’ll be teaching the younger person the ways of prison escape. But wait, Escape Plan 1 is at 49% on Rotten Tomatoes? What a fucking joke!
