Check Out These American Assassin Banners

One of the best actors ever, Michael Keaton, will star in the upcoming thriller American Assassin.  It could be damned good.  The film also stars Daniel O’Brien and was directed by Michael Cuesta.  Check out the synopsis and pics below.  Keaton looking cool as hell!

A CIA black ops recruit, Mitch Rapp (O’Brien), is devastated by the loss of his girlfriend to a terrorist attack. CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Lathan) assigns Stan Hurley (Keaton) to train a grief-stricken but highly motivated Rapp how to thwart terrorist operations and hunt the perpetrators. Together they investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on military and civilian targets and discover a pattern in the violence that leads them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent (Negar) to stop a mysterious operative (Kitsch) intent on starting a world war in the Middle East.

Unfortunately, I’m not aware of any banners with Scott Adkins, who is also in the movie.  But either way this will be one to look forward to for sure, we need more movies like this!

Keep an eye out for American Assassin this September.

  • Keaton? I’m in.

    • Barney Ross

I like Keaton but he was in the shitty Robocop remake, if its PG13 i’m out.

  • Shadow

Daaamn, i want him to be back as Batman one more time…. I want it sooo bad!!!
Absolutely looking forward to see this one!)))

  • Barney Ross

If its PG13 its gonna be fucking shit! if its R i’m in!

If PG13 it;ll be like that shitty gay costner spy movie from last year or so

      • Barney Ross

Agreed and hopefully its not pg13, the last Costner movie worth watching was Open range (2003)

Keaton’s last watchable movie was in 1998, Desperate Mesures which was good.

“American Assassin” is a book by the writer Vince Flynn..Flynn wrote a series of books about the character of Mitch Rapp being in the CIA and working as an undercover counter-terrorist agent.
This is not the first book in the series but it served as a prequel story in the novel & therefore it makes sense that it would be the first one adapted to the big screen. Flynn was also a consultant on the fifth season of the show “24”

Unfortunately Flynn died a few years ago of prostate cancer and I hope they really do not change the politics or the themes of the books which were mostly conservative or right-wing. Rapp in the novels had a conservative or right wing approach to fighting terrorism.
And to the social justice Warriors who dominate & run the culture today…
    That is a No-No

    • Barney Ross

The 5th season of 24 was the best one. Hopefully this film will be R rated.

      • Mucho Macho

I dont know about the R rating. Hopefully they will make it R.
But the politics worry me too. These are a series of novels on par with the Jack Ryan Series in terms of demographic.
And conservative shows and movies are not in abundance..
        For obvious reasons

        • Barney Ross

If you look at the Jack Ryan movies, the best ones are the R rated ones with Ford, the later Ryan films lacked manliness and violence. Even the story was poor, the one with Ben affleck and the other one with the fake Kirk jr. were soft ass shit

Keaton needs a comeback. Better be R.

I actually like all Jack Ryan movies except the last one with Chris Pine, I thought he was all wrong for the role, however I would have liked to have seen a movie of the Kevin Costner character because he was the only good thing in the movie.

I love Alec Baldwin in “The Hunt for Red October ” and I thought Harrison Ford was great in both “patriots games”and “clear and present danger” .
However let me say this ..
“the sum of all fears” is not a bad movie, it’s actually a good one.
I think Ben Affleck gets a lot of hate sometimes & I get why but that was a good movie.

          • Barney Ross

Yeah definately the weakest one is the one with Chris Pine, watched it 2 times and i cant like this shit…too soft and weak script.

The sum of all fears is not a bad film, its just that its nothing compared to “patriots games”and “clear and present danger”. Morgan Freeman’s excellent acting made it good

This is how i’d rate the Jack Ryan Films:

The Hunt for Red October – 10/10
            Patriot Games – 10/10
            Clear & Present Danger – 10/10
The Sum of all Fears – 7/10
            Shadow Recruit – 5/10

If i’m correct, you DO like this one too, right?

Enemy of the State (1998) with Will Smith and the legendary Gene Hackman, that is a fucking great one 10/10

I dont hate Ben Affleck, i thought his best film was the one with Charlize Theron in 2000, Reindeer game, superb R rated thriller

          • Mucho Macho

📀 I have the unrated version of “reindeer games” on DVD and it’s quite the underrated little flick. It’s a cool movie.
📀”Enemy of The State” is great and also underappreciated a little bit. Also part of my DVD Collection my amigo👍

          • Barney Ross

I knew you liked Enemy of the State…looks like your kind of film

          • Mucho Macho

The the score for “enemy of the state” is quite good as well, I really liked it.
The character that Gene Hackman played in the movie It’s like a tribute or a variation of the character he played in Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Conversation” from 1974.

Btw..Affleck was da bomb in “Phantoms”
