The summer is more or less behind us now and if you found that there weren’t enough manly movies released, the fall might present better options.  There are actually quite a few interesting movies headed our way so let’s take a look at them below.

It is a horror movie that is right around the corner.  It might give you some nostalgia if you remember how it went back in the day.  This movie is already getting rave previews and actually looks quite good.

Synopsis: When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, neighborhood kids band together to square off against Pennywise, an evil clown whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

This movie is going to feature Scott Adkins and Micheal Keaton at the same time, which alone might just make it the best movie of September.  Or even for the rest of the year.  And if you’re in Norway you can actually check it out ahead of time, well, tomorrow!

Synopsis: When Cold War veteran Stan Hurley takes CIA black ops recruit Mitch Rapp under his wing, they receive an assignment to investigate a wave of random attacks on both military and civilian targets. After discovering a pattern of violence, Hurley and Rapp join forces with a lethal Turkish agent to stop a mysterious operative who wants to start a global war.

Later this month it’s going to be time for some more 21st century action.  Or to be more precise, entertaining R-Rated 21st century action.  The first movie was a surprise hit, so here’s hoping this movie comes out swinging for the more ‘adult’ direction of new action movies.

Synopsis: With their headquarters destroyed and the world held hostage, members of Kingsman find new allies when they discover a spy organization in the United States known as Statesman. In an adventure that tests their strength and wits, the elite secret agents from both sides of the pond band together to battle a ruthless enemy and save the day, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy.

I’m sure Tom Cruise is going to be looking for something to bounce back on for 2017 after The Mummy turned out to be a solid disaster.  American Made/Mena might do the trick.  This just reminds me on Narcos for some reason, which is an amazing show.

Synopsis: Barry Seal, a TWA pilot, is recruited by the CIA to provide reconnaissance on the burgeoning communist threat in Central America and soon finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations in the history of the United States. The operation spawns the birth of the Medellin cartel and almost brings down the Reagan White House.

My bets are on The Foreigner. Looks damn good.

  • Wow, you left off American Assassin. I’ll chalk it up as an honest mistake 😃

I’m very interested in The Foreigner & American Assassin! Beyond Skyline could make 2017.

    • The Night Rider

      I knew there’d be something!

      • French Predator

Brawl in cell block 99 also

        • I wasn’t impressed with the trailer but it’s the director of Bone Tomahawk so I’ll reserve judgment

          • French Predator

script is great, especially the last 40 minutes of non stop ultra violence.
it’s barely r-nc17.director craig Z loved the cast so much he hired ’em in the next Gibson flick Dragged across the concrete.

    • Barney Ross

Skyline 2 ? Good thing they went with an R rating, we’ll see… could be watchable now. The first one had good special effects but sucked and was pg13

  • Barney Ross

Kingsman 2 is probably the best of 2017 with Blade Runner 2.

IT is R rated i’m surprised ! its the way to go for horror movies.

    1-Blade Runner 2
    2-Kingsman 2
    3-American Assassin
    4-The Foreigner
    5-Jigsaw (Saw 8)
    6-Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre)

For me the remaining of 2017 looks like this for me

    • Leatherface looks like an actual horror movie with the R rating from back in the good ole days. It looks disturbing. I’m impressed

      • The Night Rider

Somehow I wasn’t even aware Leatherface was happening.

      • Barney Ross

Same, can’t wait!! I’m sure you guys notice but there’s a lot more R rated stuff now. The anti-pg13 thing i started on forum is finally paying off BIG TIME.

  • Jack Caine

American Assassin, It, Blade Runner 2049, Brawl in Cell Block 99 and Darkest Hour are the ones I’m most interested in. The Flatliners remake can fuck off.

  • Jimmy Smith

The wheelmen look bad ass. looks like an ol school throwback to the 70’s . Watching the trailer mad me think this would of been Bronson back in the day .

  • Stig Johansen

Keeping my fingers crossed for Blade Runner 2. It has big shoes to fill, though. I guess I will have to factor that in and be a bit lenient when I watch it.

  • TheOldMcClane

There’s also a new Hellraiser film coming out. It will probably suck though.

    • French Predator

“It” was a disgrace, tonally unstructured, and soft R , but the hype saved it from a deserved flop, the miniserie is superior because at least it got the Derry atmosphere right, in the new flick it didn’t felt like Derry but a random small town, even with the Bunyan statue visible.

Hitman ‘s Bodyguard ? 1/10, unmanly, cgi blood, shaky cam and PC all the fucking way.

      • TheOldMcClane

Tim Curry is the only true Pennywise.

        • French Predator
