News Blowout: Expendables 4, Terminator 6, Top Gun 2, More

THE EXPENDABLES 4

Although not really a surprise, it turns out that The Expendables 4 is happening and will begin filming in August.  According to Randy Couture anyway.

Speaking with The Arnold Fans, Couture says:

“I’m excited about Expendables 4. Right now, we’re scheduled to start filming in August and hopefully we’re able to stay on schedule. It sounds like we’re coming back to Bulgaria, which is exciting. I’ve spent a lot of time in Sofia and Varna and I’m excited to come back. I love the people (there), I love the food and I’m excited to come back”

If the debate between Avi Lerner and Sylvester Stallone on whether or not to return to Bulgaria was true, it looks like Lerner may have won out.  But that doesn’t mean it might not go somewhere else too, China has also been suggested.

TERMINATOR 6

Also at The Arnold Classic, Terminator 6 was discussed.  Arnold Schwarzenegger says that this movie will begin filming this year too.

“We are starting to shoot Terminator 6 in June to the middle of October, so I am in that. I am looking forward to coming back as the T-800 model. It’s gonna be great with Tim Miller as the director and Jim Cameron is kind of supervising the whole thing.”

The last movie I watched that Cameron ‘supervised’ was Sanctum, which was good.

TOP GUN 2

Then there’s another sequel to a 1980’s action movie.   Omega Underground reports that Joseph Kosinski’s Top Gun: Maverick will begin shooting this Summer, specifically in July with the shoot to run through until around Thanksgiving.

There’s going to be a lot of interesting stuff happening in that movie, the soundtrack for one… best stay away from the rap, eh fellas?

THE TRACKER

Dolph Lundgren is making a new action/thriller called The TrackerAccording to TheActionElite the movie is filming in Italy.  There is also a tentative synopsis.

SYNOPSIS: In 2008, Loke Hakansson was taking a family vacation in the south of Italy when his wife and his daughter were kidnapped. Following exchange attempt gone wrong both his wife and daughter were killed. Ten years later, Hakansson is contacted by a local detective who has re-opened the case and has new information. Reluctantly, Hakansson travels back to Italy to meet the detective. When he arrives he discovers that the detective has committed “suicide”. To his dismay, Hakansson is trapped in a web of deceit that forces him into acts of violence to understand what happened to his family.

RAMPAGE

Plot-free CGI toy commercial The Avengers (whatever the new sequel is called) has been moved  up a week in the United States, so the Corporate Champ-led action thriller video game adaptation Rampage is getting out of its way – shifting from April 20th to April 13th.

Sad that even The Rock has to avoid this blight on the industry and can’t even compete.
