The Terror is probably this month’s manliest new show.
From AMC, it follows a Royal Navy ship as it undertakes a perilous voyage in pursuit of the Northwest Passage, but treacherous conditions, limited resources, and low morale plague the crew.
Only two episodes have aired so far, so there’s not much to catch up on (or review), it’s also in anthology format, with a beginning, middle and end. Properly cooked in other words, and based off a true story.
It’s from AMC Studios and Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Production. I had at first feared abuse of green screen and artificial deck lighting, but so far the series looks very natural and engrossing from an aesthetic sense.
Episode three airs on Monday.
