Amblin Entertainment and James Wan’s Atomic Monster production label are going to cook 1990 classic Arachnophobia over again.
In the original John Goodman/Jeff Daniels movie, a newly discovered Venezuelan spider is transported to a small American town and produces a new species of deadly spiders, which begin killing the town’s residents.
The actual spiders in the movie were mostly Avondale spiders from New Zealand, large and harmless, along with animatronics for the larger original Venezuelan spider and its mate.
The remake is in the early stages with no director, actors, or writers attached. Wan will not direct, and Marshall is returning but only as executive producer.
