Terminator: Genisys Director To Direct Sopranos Film

There is more Sopranos to come.

The hit HBO series — which is widely regarded the best TV series ever made — is getting some more screen time with a prequel film with the working title The Many Saints of Newark, according to Deadline.

Now the bad news.  Alan Taylor, director of Terminator: Genisys, will direct the movie.

The film is set during the 1960s riots in Newark, N.J., between the African-American and Italian communities, Deadline reported. Some of the characters from the original series would also return, likely younger versions of Tony’s parents, who were portrayed by Joseph Siravo and Nancy Marchand.

At one point David Chase was supposed to be behind this, now it’s unclear if he’s still truly involved.

It won’t be the first time this era shows up, the actual series offers flashbacks.  The question is, will we get to see Uncle Junior (possibly me favorite TV personality of all time) or perhaps Feech La Manna? Those fellas were old in the show, but they had quite the colorful pasts…
