The surprise reveal of a teaser for Ghostbusters 3 drew widespread acclaim. Well not that widespread, actress Leslie Jones has invoked President Trump and denounced the new movie as sexist.
Responding to a fan asking Jason Reitman on Twitter whether he’d bring back the 2016 characters, Jones tweeted the same tweet three times:
“So insulting. Like f–k us. We didn’t count. It’s like something Trump would do. (Trump voice): ‘Gonna redo ghostbusteeeeers, better with men, will be huge. Those women ain’t ghostbusteeeeers’. Ugh, so annoying. Such a dick move. And I don’t give f–k I’m saying something.”
Reitman previously said when the new film was announced: “I have so much respect for what Paul [Feig] created with those brilliant actresses, and would love to see more stories from them. However, this new movie will follow the trajectory of the original film.”
Don’t get your hopes up too far for Ghostbusters 3 just yet though. Apparently, the new film is still going the female reboot way, with a new actress leading a cast of teenagers.
