8) 1963 Jeep Gladiator J20 – Tremors (1990)
Just about the only thing manlier than a 1963 Jeep Gladiator would be a 1963 Jeep Gladiator being driven by Fred Ward. We are back to manly movie territory with this classic pickup from Tremors. The front may look like an industrial boiler with headlights, but this here is a wilderness vehicle fit for any job. Notice that other, less manly, vehicles in the movie, have their axles overcome by the strength of the graboid’s tentacles.
But not the Jeep Gladiator, which tears the sumbitch straight off with the correct gear being put in place. Nice ride height on this one, with tyres that would chew a lawn to pieces. And listen to that noise when the door is closed. That’s not some Mercedes airtight 21st century whiffing noise, that’s a lowdown bellowing slam that echoes right throughout the chassis.
