It looks like Bond 25 is going through some production issues. Earlier British tabloid The Sun, reported that not one but three explosions ripped through the set, leaving someone in hospital. Now they’re reporting that the director can’t be bothered to show up for work.
“There is real mutiny right now on the set. It’s bad enough that Cary was so late for filming and held everyone up, but then for the crew to be asked to work extra hours to cover it was just the final straw. He turned up three hours late which p—ed everyone off. There was a big bust up because they’re so behind. Many said they were not willing to give up their Father’s Day in return for this film. It’s just doomed.”
What was Cary Fukunaga doing that required such urgent attention? Why, engaging in a ‘particularly intense’ PS4 session. For three hours. I’m not film financier, but how much would it cost to hold up MGM’s pièce de résistance for even one hour? Answer: Probably more than your fucking house. I mean, if true, this is a huge deal. It’s like an aircraft carrier getting shut down for three hours, so the captain can top the leaderboard online.
At one point, before this production, Daniel Craig said that he’d ‘rather slash his wrists’ than play Bond again. I can’t imagine that this final movie has made him feel any better.
Don’t forget, they brought in feminist commissars to make sure that his character was ‘MeToo friendly’, as well…
