Ayer Making Another WW2 Movie

There haven’t been too many big budget movies about the WW2 Africa campaign, but that is going to change in the best way possible.  Fury director David Ayer is in negotiations to direct El Alamein.

The battles of El Alamein between Axis and Allied forces were among the most significant of the war, with contention of the Suez Canal and eventually opening of the ‘soft underbelly’ at stake.

James Coyne wrote the most recent draft of the script for the drama, which will be produced by Di Bonaventura Pictures’ Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian, along with Thomas Augsberger.

I always thought Ed Harris would have made a great Erwin Rommel, but it looks like he might be getting a bit too old now.
