Can Clint Eastwood do no wrong? Here is the trailer for his new movie Richard Jewell which in my opinion strays mildly into SPOILER territory. Especially if you have never heard of the case. The film covers the U.S. Government turning predator against a layman hero.
The film is released December 13th.
Years before Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther, Wesley Snipes wanted to adapt the character on film and play the role back in the mid-1990s. This week Snipes has been talking about that canned version:
“I had the rights to Black Panther maybe four or five years before the Blade project came around. When Blade came around, since we didn’t do Black Panther, our version of it, I thought, ‘Well, this would be a cool opportunity for me to do something for truly my friends. All the martial arts cats, all the cats that love Shaft, and all the cats that ever wanted to be a vampire and bite a chick on the neck.’
At that time [mid-90s], we didn’t actually have the technology [to do Black Panther], but we would have done all the Vibranium. All the x-ray vision and virtual operation and the whole nine of it. I wanted it to be like the comic book was [with a] super city and super science.”
Snipes is currently filming Coming 2 America, with Eddie Murphy.
Anti-establishment franchise Bourne doesn’t seem to be done just yet.
Ben Smith tells Cinema Blend this week that a new show, Treadstone, will also have big connections with a new film in the franchise – though he couldn’t offer specific details:
“I mean we are definitely working on another film. What we’re doing within that? Will there be connected tissue in terms of are we all existing within the same world and universe? Absolutely. The details of that are still under wraps.”
I personally liked all the films, except for Jason Bourne.
