NEWS: NEW SOPRANOS TV SHOW? UNCHARTED, MICHAEL BAY

UNCHARTED

Here’s the trailer for Uncharted. The positively amazing game series on PlayStation, for those of us who grew up with Indiana Jones and felt the void with its inactivity in later years, Uncharted more than took up the slack.

This movie though?

Casting problems… can it be denied?  The idea is apparently to sew the seeds of a new series with this, with miscast Mark Wahlberg and miscast Tom Holland growing into the roles.  But they look so removed from the real characters, that it could be a terminal distraction.  Holland looks 12 years old and sounds like he’s seven years old.

Meanwhile, Nathan Fillion has been trending on Twitter.  You know what that means; Fillion was God’s pick for Uncharted.  But, I suppose, nepotism wins out now and again.

THE SOPRANOS

The Many Saints of Newark has come and gone.  It didn’t set the world on fire financially, even relative to ‘Covid-19’, but it did apparently please its financiers along with David Chase.

Ann Sarnoff, WarnerMedia’s CEO of Studios and Networks says that the company was thrilled with the results.  So much so that: “we’re talking to David [Chase] about a new series, Sopranos related, on HBO Max.”

Supposedly, the series could take place in the 1980s.  This is dangerous territory for the legacy of the GOAT TV series.  I mean, you don’t go adding shit on to The Bible after a few drinks…

AMBULANCE

Here is the trailer for Ambulance, from Michael Bay. Written by Chris Fedak, the film is based on the 2005 Danish film of the same name by Laurits Munch-Petersen, and stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Synopsis: Los Angeles. Will Sharp desperately needs $231,000 for his wife’s surgery. He reaches out to Danny, a criminal friend and foster brother, who talks him into taking part in a $32 million bank heist. The robbery goes wrong when the two shoot an LAPD officer. The pair are soon on the run in an ambulance with an EMT and the dying officer as their hostages.

The film  is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States by Universal Pictures on February 18, 2022.

APEX

Finally, how can you post an aggregated news article without rounding it off with a new Walter_B project?  Did you know that The Hunters will be Hunted in Apex?!

Synopsis: Serving a life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit, former cop Thomas Malone gets a chance to win his freedom if he can survive a twisted game. Six killers pay for the thrill of hunting Malone for sport on a remote island, but once he arrives, all hell breaks loose. Laying traps and playing mind games, he soon turns the tables on the goons who want him dead.

This one is released November 12th.
